Pharmacy personal statement

Does anyone have tips for writing a personal statement, I don't have work experience in a pharmacy though

I think my sister read a book on Aspirin lol, she didn't have any experience and goes to Manchester so it can be done. Sorry I can't be of much help but try to describe your interest and passion in the subject without just saying stuff like 'I've been interested in doing pharmacy for X amount of years'. Read a few books and you can talk about those, perhaps there is a MOOC course related that you could do? I did one that literally took 10 minutes
hey thanks for the reply I will check it out

Hi @Cookies709

I think a good way to start your personal statement would be to explain why you want to study pharmacy and what work experience you have which you think would help you during the course and for the future. You could talk about your extra curricular activities and how that will help you when studying pharmacy.
You could also talk about you as a person for example, your hobbies and what you enjoy doing in your free time.

Try not to worry about not having work experience in a pharmacy, you could reflect more on other things you may have done to help you decide you want to study pharmacy.

I hope this helps!
Please don't hesitate to ask any more questions

I didn’t work at a pharmacy either but i mentioned some online work experience from springpod and that I read the british journal of pharmacology- didn’t really, just found a short article by the time it was interviews. Also mention any other work experience you have and relate it to any skills a pharmacist requires
Useful for Personal Statements

Any 'customer service' work and any 'Care' experience such aged care, special school, anything with older people, addicts, homeless etc.
This can be paid or voluntary, but its worth getting as much as you can.
All interviews will include 'what would you do if....' scenarios about dealing with people.

Hi @Cookies709

It may be useful to read articles relating to pharmacy, for example, I read the pharmaceutical journal which helps me keep up to date on any advancements in pharmacy.
Other great sources are the pharmacy magazine and the RPS. Again, these sources are really useful for understanding and having an idea of what's going on in the pharmacy world

I hope this helps!
