Sofia medical university

Can someone tell me how is their experience? How is the application process without using an agency? What are your monthly costs (eg: groceries, apartment, books, stationary)? Where do you get your apartments (eg: place name, cuz I've got no idea)? How is a day in your life living there? I'm looking to join this September. As much as I'm excited, I'm really scared too. Fear of the unknown lol. So could you guys please guide me. That would be really kind

Thanks in advance 🤍

Hey! I am a first year in the university. The monthly costs really depends on how your life style is. Groceries can vary from £35-£60+. Apartments usually are 400 euroes plus, but that can vary if your living with people as shared apartments is cheaper. Books costs can vary from £5-£30 depending how big the book is. The Stationary is very cheap, there are many shops here that students go to for their stationary. Regarding the application process without an agency, i honestly would not recommend to do that as it is quite difficult and most students I've seen try it failed to get in. It is best to go with an agency. I went with an agency called Igeneration, they are much cheaper than the other agencies and do most of the work for you, they really made my life easy. The whole process was very complicated and i wasn't sure where to even begin, but they helped me out a lot and i simply had to send my documents and revise for the entrance exam. My experience so far has honestly been amazing. I don't regret coming here at all and it isn't as stressful as i thought it would be. I love the subjects and they are all interesting. I don't even feel like i left the UK since there are a lot of UK students also studying here aswell as students from all around the world so it is really nice. All the students are friendly and the teachers teach in really good English. Regarding the apartments, I can help you out if you want as i have 20+ contacts of estate agents. I can also recommend to you a place to live in sofia as my area is amazing, I have a big mall, many big shops and many restraunts around me within a 2 minute walk. I know exactly how you feel, If you would like I can help you out with it all. I would like to offer this help with any student that wants to join the uni too.

First of all, thank you so much for your fast and thorough reply. Very helpful 🤍. Secondly, for the application process, what I meant by applying on my own or without agency is that I have a friend in Bulgaria, she's gone through an agency but she wasn't able to make it to first years so instead she started with foundation. So she suggested me to not go through any agency and she herself will submit my documents from Bulgaria itself. Does that sound like it'll work? I don't know what option to choose or which will work out at an affordable rate. So do you suggest I go with an agency or get the help of my friend?

For the entrance exam, do you know what are the contents and where I could find revision materials?

Also it's my first time living alone so I was wondering, is it a safe place for ladies at night? What time do you have your holidays? And how long are they?

Could we discuss this in pm if you don't mind?I've got so many other questions too

Again thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it alot🤍

I haven’t studied in Sofia however I did live there for six months for an internship and it is very safe at night in the city centre. However, you should not go to the Fakulteta district and the area around the train station is a little seedy (close to the Львов мост/Lion’s bridge)

Hello the exam dates have been announced and they said that the maximum score is 30.00
I know 18.00 is from the 3 entrance exams. They said the other 12 points are for A-level grades or high school grades depends where u r from, anyway does anyone know how those 12 points are scored?

Your agency should provide u with that info, if you aren’t going through an agency ur chances of acceptance are slim to none, not sure tho you might wanna find someone to talk to who applied independently
