living in halls for second year?

Hi, I'm currently at the university of york and don't have anyone to live with in second year. I've applied for campus east accomodation but i'm worried i'll be isolated from everyone else because they'll be in houses nearer town. I've messaged some people on facebook but I can't really see myself living with them. Has anyone got experience of living in halls at york as a continuing student? I'm worried it will be miserable.
