Advice on finding mech eng work experience

I’m in yr 12 looking to study mechanical engineering at uni but I am really struggling to find work experience. Please can someone help out and give advice on how to apply and where to apply.

You don't need work experience.

As long as you study maths and physics, you'll be fine. It's not worth the hassle, and there'll be essentially no actual engineering work available for 16-17yr olds anyway.

Something like https://www.etrust.org.uk/residential-insight-into-university would be much more helpful than work experience
