Civil service immigration officer 2022/2023

Hey :frown:,

I’ve applied for the immigration officer role at the home office. On the application form it asked whether I had a driving licence and I stated similar equivalent held. I passed everything and then at interview I had told them that I have a automatic licence and that I could pursue manual if required. I thought if I don’t bring it up they’ll reject me straight so at least if they know it would be okay. Fast forward I have the provisional offer now. During the online ID check I bought it up again and they said it doesn’t matter anymore? Is anyone currently working for them with an automatic or is going through the recruitment stages with it? Does it really not matter anymore?

Obviously you can have a manual or automatic driving licence looool. Usually the licence is used for proof of identity and nothing else. If your job requires driving then you will be using your own car or a hire car from the agency in which you pick what car to drive

Take a deep breath - you are fine!
