I am currently studying as a second year student in Lancaster University. I have suffered from mental health issues that prevented me from attending lectures since November 2022, and I was only able to attend lectures during some of the final weeks of the lent term.
The deparment has been supportive and have given me extensions, but I feel that without attending all the lectures and discussions there is very little for me to catch up on. As a result, I couldn't finish any of the individual assignments in a way that meets my standards. I really wish to do well in my studies. By the end of this holiday, I will have already failed three modules of my Part 2 year.
I have been looking for possible rearrangments for my studies, and I stumbled upon a webpage named Repeat Part II year from the university, that stated students with exceptional circumstances can choose to apply for repeating a year. However, a manual of academic regulations for Lancaster University only accounted for the situations where a repeat option is available for Part I year students.
I'm very confused, are Part II students not allowed to appply for a repeat year? If so, why does the webpage exist? There seems to be no employees working during the holiday and I'm getting more anxious everyday. If a repeat year is simply not available for me I may have to consider dropping out.
