Have you looked at the entry requirements for Geography on each Uni website?
Remember that each Uni will offer different courses - and will have different entry requirements.
And that Russell Group doesnt mean anything meaningful, and many of the best Unis for Geog are not RG.

Liverpool - https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/geography-and-planning/geography-programmes/undergraduate/
Sussex - https://www.sussex.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/search?q=geography
Aberdeen - https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/subject-areas/372/geography/
Swansea - https://www.swansea.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/biosciences-geography-physics/geography/
Manchester - https://www.seed.manchester.ac.uk/geography/study/courses/
Aberystwyth - https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/dges/prospective/undergraduates/#geography-earth-&-environmental-sciences
etc
UCL and LSE aren’t the best options for geography

would these grades be any good?

9,9,9,8,8,7,7,7,7
Unis usually are not that fussed about GCSEs - your A levels are much more important.
They may want specific GCSE grades in Maths and English but otherwise it isnt that significant.
Hi!

Have you considered studying Geography at Swansea University?

You will get the chance to study both human and physical geography disciplines, alongside GIS and earth sciences options. You can also choose to specialise from the beginning of the course. Many of our degrees are accredited by the Royal Geographical Society.

Swansea also has many specialist research interests, such as in glaciology, migration, social theory, urban space and enviromental dynamics, to name but a few. There are also a wide variety of geography field trips that you can get the chance to go on.

Why not take a look at our undergraduate courses?

Plus, you will get to study in one of the most beautiful universities in the world, backing right onto the beach. We have the best surroundings, being right next to the Gower Peninsula and Mumbles. Surely there can't be a better place to study than that?

Yes *AA will be enough. I studied Geog at UCL and can tell you that both UCL and LSE are great places for geography!
