I told my partner when we eventually met at work. I then dealt with it by getting to know each other better and then awaiting the right time and moment before everything was made official.

I would either give the person time and space and thought for room to give consideration or what I would do is this not think about it because their loss is another gain and there’s plenty of fishes out in the sea it just wasn’t the right one for you even right one yet wrong time.
