Financial mathematics at a semi-target vs Economics at Manchester

I'm currently holding an offer to do Economics at the university of Manchester which I've been told to be a 'prominent non-target' for top finance roles. I've seen a semi-target offering financial mathematics in clearing and wondered whether doing this degree will put me in a worse position than studying economics.
Manchester is semi target.
I think Manchester is considered a semi-target. What's the other university?

University of Nottingham. On every thread I've read it's been said to be better than Manchester for roles in finance

They're both semi-targets, you're fine at either.

Just pick the course you prefer.

Both have pretty active finance societies; MUTIS at Manchester for eg is very active & has good resources.
