Access Courses & Learndirect

Recently, I joined a Learndirect access course but after a bit more research I've seen a lot of bad things online about them.

I'm 18, and I want to eventually study Japanese & International Relations at SOAS, Sheffield or Leeds but will an access course from Learndirect be enough? I'm doubting it after seeing that there's not much support and that it's not very good in general. So if not, who should I go with, or what should I do?
I hope you have not already paid, you can get an advanced learner loan if you go to a traditional college (plenty do distance learning). You do not have to pay it off as long as you complete the course.

I have paid, but I'm eligible for a refund until 14 days after I enrol, so I should be good. Are there any websites that list the traditional colleges that do distance learning? Seems all the ones I find are universities offering distance learning and I don't have any level 3 qualifications.

Yes, some are not on the search though. For example, Sussex college is not on there and my recent Access was done with them. Sometimes googling the access course you want may bring up those other colleges.

Tick distance learning and leave course search blank, over 300 choices. When you find one you like, make sure you find out if that college accepts the advanced learner loan.

Thank you very much, how did you find your course and would it matter which subject I take, taking the university course I'd like to study in mind?

Humanities maybe? That or social sciences perhaps, I am just guessing.

Mine was done with East Sussex College, this one was simply googled. I have a offer from Durham and so the college is fine, it was AQA registered.

They all want 30 distinction and 15 merits. Not that difficult to achieve.
