Is this too good to be true or am I tripping?

Hi guys I was doing some research on some computer science courses with a foundation year because I don't have the required subjects to get into uni with.

However, I have seen many of the top 20 unis and even top 10 like Loughborough offer students like me a very low offers like triple Bs or ABB.

Example: https://digital.ucas.com/coursedisplay/courses/746b65f3-c810-9fb2-fd61-94d33e7dab1a?academicYearId=2024

Some people would argue that the "catch" is the foundation year, otherwise, no, no catch.

Wow! Then how come people need to fight to get all A*s and I can just get in with triple Bs? On top of that getting transferred to the same course as people fresh from A levels would do, I'm super confused lol.

Because the competition is for standard entry! Not many people actually need foundation years so that bit isn't super competitive. Also, if you're getting all As and A*s, you really don't need a foundation year so that's why they're not so competitive and therefore a little more lax on the entry requirements

Hi @Clivierx,

Great to hear from you! You can see all our entry requirements on the course page here. If you do have any specific questions, you can speak to our Admissions Office by emailing [email protected]. I just wanted to say that if you haven't yet visited Loughborough, we do have open days coming up - you can see the information on these here.
