I'm resitting my gcse... can I sit maths higher as a private candidate if I did foundation in my 1st gcse and got a 3?

I'm resitting my gcse... can I sit maths higher as a private candidate if I did foundation in my 1st gcse and got a 3?
U can sit higher but u have to make u are able to get grade 4 or above, ask for advice if u know someone u have been through a similar situation u are in. Only do higher if u know u are able to get those grade and if u need maths in life
