Kicked out of medical school - now applying to pharmacology

I have been kicked out of a medical school as I failed my end of year exams and the resit. I have to apply via UCAS again to study a different course. I am going to apply to pharmacology. I now have a year where I want to get a job but ideally I'd want a placement, internship or apprenticeship that links to pharmaceutical companies as that is where I want to go as a career in the future? What kind of placement, internship, work experience or apprenticeship could I get for this year?
