University of Nottingham credits

Hello, I am a student who is thinking of applying at the University of Nottingham (2024). Please could a current student explain how the credit system works for modules. E.g, how many credits do you have to complete? Is this a minimum number? How many credits is a module worth? is this the same for all modules(optional and mandatory)?
Thanks in advance

Hiya,

You study 120 credits a year, and these credits are made from compulsory and optional modules (if any).

You'll have any combination of 10, 20, 30, 40, 60 credit modules totaling 120. You may have for example 90 credits worth of compulsory modules, and you get to choose 30 credits from a pool of optional modules (i.e. 3 x 10 credit modules, or a 10 + 20 credit, or 1 x 30 credit).

Exact information depends on the course. You'll be able to find out more information on the course website.
