Does your visa have any conditions on working, perhaps restrictions on hours per week? Any employer is going to check that you have the right to work before taking you on as otherwise they can face a fine of up to £20,000 per worker and/or 5 years in gaol.

You could try looking for jobs within your University, typically they're more understanding of academic commitments. There are various jobs with your University, for example with the student union or as a student ambassador.
