Im gonna crasgh my first car help

Hi, i've got my driving test coking this week and i have been learning in a diesel car. My instructor has taught me to use the buting point to move off and to park or up hill starts in traffic. I have now found out that in petrol cars you need a bit of gas along with the clutch to move especially up hill, i have been using my biting point to control the car uphill this whole time i feel like when i start driving and i have a car behind me uphill im gonna end up rolling back into it. Any advice?

Have the hand brake up if you trying to find the biting point so you don't roll back. When your ready to go release it.
