Calculate the resistance of a uniform wire of diameter 0.32mm and length 5.0m the resistivity of the material - 5x10^-7.

p=RA/L

Confused with the prefixes.

The units of resistivity are ohm metres, or ohms * m.

I can't figure out what the prefixes are in that question :s

Perhaps if you explained what your problem is.

You have the formula and the values to plug into it. (Calculate area A from the diameter given)

What answer do you get? Let's see what you've done.

worked it out now.
Was using wrong prefix :rolleyes:
