Physics question velocity

Hi, please could I have help on this question? I understand why the answer is A but I don’t get why it can’t be B, is it because the tennis ball would not have enough time to reach terminal velocity so it’ll just accelerate?
Here is the question: https://app.gemoo.com/share/image-annotation/583291466045538304?codeId=DGVkEEyLV9yxY&origin=imageurlgenerator
Thank you!

If the tennis ball reached the ground then the acceleration would (almost) instantly change to a negative value (assuming up is -ve and down is +ve) because it has changed direction after collision. It is A because we assume that the ball reaches terminal velocity before reaching the ground, so acceleration should approach 0 since ball would be at a constant terminal velocity
