Hi! I'm doing Biotechnology so we will have some modules together
About the exchange fees; you will find more here and

"Students participating in the Worldwide Exchange Programme will continue to pay their tuition fees to the University of York and not to the host university. Students currently paying home/EU fees to York who are studying abroad for a full academic year are entitled to a 50% fee waiver for their year on exchange. Overseas students are not eligible for this fee discount and will continue to pay full fees to the University of York"

plus this about exchanges to Asia.

Hi Sophie, I'm Jess and I'll be studying English lit too!

Hi Jess! Nice to see another English student, I'd been feeling rather outnumbered by all the sciencey people...

I will be doing with a year in industry but I'm also considering the abroad option, sounds tempting

Sorry, Idk much about the latter. There are some term dates for York, we definitely have christmas and easter break but Idk about exact dates for exams or re-sits.

Don't be intimidated! We don't bite. At least you can understand what Shakespeare is going on about... That's where we fall...

Hi

Anyone know which blocks of each college have WiFi rather than just Ethernet internet?

Haha yes me too! My other two A levels were Biology and Geography, so I always get people asking me why I chose English lit for my degree rather than something sciencey, finally someone who will understand! :P What accommodation are you thinking of? I'm still torn between going for the cheapest in Vanbrough so that I have more of my loan to live off, and having my own shower in James! haha

I think even English lit students struggle with that sometimes, I'm not even sure Shakespeare himself knew what he was going on about half the time :P

My plan at the moment is to do a year in industry. There's the obvious benefits of experience, reduced fees and a salary but I also want to see how chemistry is actually useful in real life and what sort of job I might end up doing.

I haven't fully made up my mind yet though and I'm glad for the extra time to decide. A year abroad looks great but I don't know how easy it is to do if you didn't apply for it in the first place. I'm sure it's possible somehow.

My ideal scenario is a year in industry abroad as a couple of the companies are based in the Netherlands and Germany, although they are English-speaking.

Your ideal scenario = mine  have you decided on accomodation yet?

Well they did drink a lot of beer in the 1700s... maybe whenever he wrote something he was always wasted? Which would explain why no one - including himself - understands it :P People say they do, but they lie...

Theoretical  But the first year is exactly the same for all physicists so we may have modules together!
I'm Amy and I'm studying Maths

I really like the look of James College so hopefully will be able to apply there! :P

Aha, that way you get the best of both worlds!

I'm planning on applying to Derwent as it's quite cheap and is pretty central. I haven't decided to specifically though as I'm not sure what will even be available! And you?
