Lol no I don't feel insecure. It's just a little sad how much time you have to be worrying about things like what hand we eat/drink with, as if it would make a difference to you whether we drink with our hands or feet.

Whether it's acceptable or not in ISLAM to beat your wife for disobeying, there's no need for it to be done anyway. Let's say it is acceptable, it doesn't mean the majority of Muslim men beat their wives. My whole family is Muslim and NEVER has my dad hit my mum, EVER! Even if they get into somewhat of an argument, they don't ever hit each other.

If I were you i'd stop spending your time criticising a religion just because there are things within it you disagree with, when you haven't experienced it first hand for yourself.

But if he did beat her if she'd disobeyed him - Allah would find this perfectly acceptable. Allah doesn't sound very nice to me.

not shaking someone's hand is the stupidest **** ever. Like what good convincing reasonable explanation would one have for not doing so?

It's haraam to have any sort of skin contact with someone from the opposite gender who isn't your close relative. It allows Shaytaan to tempt you to have thoughts which could result in you commiting a much major sin further down the line such as fornication or adultery. Therefore as a precaution all Muslims should not allow this to happen even though it may be common in the west but this can be said for most things like music and drinking.

It's haraam to have any sort of skin contact with someone from the opposite gender who isn't your close relative. It allows Shaytaan to tempt you to have thoughts which could result in you commiting a much major sin further down the line such as fornication or adultery. Therefore as a precaution all Muslims should not allow this to happen even though it may be common in the west but this can be said for most things like music and drinking.

I did not know it is forbidden. Oh well, I don't see the harm in it and would rather go ahead rather than make them feel like they're too insignificant to shake my hand.

I remember being told when I was younger that I shouldn't shake hands with a male even if it was for something necessary such as a job/uni interview.
Imo, that's a little ridiculous.
1) It looks awkward keeping your hands by your side. Cue the awkward silence...or would any of you actually say "sorry, I can't shake your hand"?
2) It doesn't give a very good jmpression especially if they decided to offer you a job/place.
