hello, just wondering if theres a mark scheme for core ?!!?
Original post by Hsevras
Do I find the grade by adding coursework + speaking + score.

Also. If I wrote 2 of the named points for Q1 pt 1&3 but 4 for bullet point 2 what mark would I be looking at?

Also, will 100 total mark put me in the A* boundary?

Yeah, add the three components together.

I am not sure as long as you wrote an equal amount for each bullet, wrote between 1.5 and 2 pages and showed a good understanding of the text it would be 16.

No last year 106 marks was the lowest for an A* and it will probably go up so 108 marks are needed for an A*.
Thank you so much!

Question Two
-------------------
Some examples:

a) . Staged scenes: carefully put together, dramatic like a play
. laced with sunlight: lit beautifully, lace is something fine and expensive, special, high quality
romantic... half-forgotten sandy roads; like a picture book - nostalgic - movie like
Conjuring a charming mirage - skillfully constructed, like a wizard; impressive, fantastic
white-washed walls: alliteration highlighting how stark they were
Embroidered gowns: fine detail, links to silk.
Imagery of a fairytale kingdom

b) bits of cloth - cheap, incomplete material
rainbow of produce - varied, colourful
Beehive that was the old town - busy, all working hard and quickly going their separate ways
Straggling market stalls - slow, like someone losing a race
Tatty trinkets - useless bits, cheap and cheesy, badly made

minimum 11 or 12?

Well if your point were correct, you should get 9 marks for those and then a mark out of 5 based on how well you wrote your letter, so minimum probably 12
I would assume it's alright, I wrote " the food was 5 star, and for you to go and get extra food shows that you are a very caring and care about the well-being of the people staying at your hotel".

I believe there should be more points for bullet point 1 and 3 for question 1. In addition I also believe there were also some different words and phrases your could of used.

No but thats really good! However, that doesn't tell us why they're important for humans or what's threatening their well being?

I talked about that too but I think it does because we humans love our history and protecting old forms of life

In bullet point 3 you could talk about her re-visiting the market and the animals, she could go on the party coach and do the water rafting.
Certainly, it's just been updated

Did anyone write about that aswell
Re-visiting the market and animal sanctuary are fine but I'm unsure about rafting because her husband went to the hospital for it.

b) Summary
/5 if you wrote 200-250 words, used all the points and was concise.

For Q2 I talk about the word 'entranced' for the first paragraph saying that the winning entry was hypnotic with its beauty. I also mentioned the word 'loudly' for the second paragraph and said that Mr. Head saw the visit as a noisy nuisance whereas Al saw the market as a place of opportunity and self-sustainment ('beehive').
Perfect! The mark scheme will also credit you for any other words you pick out but it mainly awards marks for explanations. Don't worry it's fine

No problem, if you have any that you want to mention just mention what it is and I'll include it

Okay, thank you very much. The other 6 I used were all phrases so hopefully all goes well. Not much we can really do now!
