Need some advice on job searching, really need the help right now!
Posting for my partner as he is not on this page.
So to keep it short, my partner is really struggling to find a job and it's bringing him down a lot more than usual.
He's been to countless courses with the job centre, joined multiple agencies and continuously applies for jobs to no avail.
He has a 3rd in creative imaging and a course (i think) in software development. He does photography and did have a business for a while, but never quite made it.
The other problem is he's also disabled, so he can't do physical labour (has cerebral palsy on right side) and can't be left along with fire (ie, cooking. He has epilepsy) He's with disability action getting help for job searches but still nothing, it seems that is also putting companies off.
He can;t get funding for a course to do computer science or anything like that (and he's pretty good).
Anybody got any advice where he can go from there? I'm pulling straws on helping him and so is the job centre, they don't know what to do either as he's doing everything right!

As well as these conventional routes, he needs to try the unconventional. I presume he is looking for something creative? If that's the case, then get him to volunteer to do the artwork or design for a charity event, a church fete, village event, street party etc, for free so long as he can have a stall to sell his artwork or services and his name on the bottom of the banners/flyers etc. Simply getting a stall (just a chair and a small table and some examples, will get him 20 conversations and known by 20 more people as an artist looking for work. Do two or three of those over the summer and there is a much larger network. This might work with photography, or website design (or both!)
This also gives his a reason to continue the creative side while doing the conventional job hunt.
And again, by using the large, easy access job websites like Indeed, Read etc, what you are doing is putting yourself in a massively larger pool of candidates where it is much harder to stand out. Much more effective is to do more research on smaller, specific companies or specialist websites where there are fewer candidates generated per advert.

Get him to do some work experience, internship or volunteer, otherwise he will find it much much harder to look for paid work. Also he won't look appealing to employers either.
