You should hear by christmas. I applied (all be it a few years ago) for the oxbridge deadline and heard back first week of Jan.

Oh right, misunderstood you.

As long as you apply before the Jan deadline you have equal chance of acceptance no matter when you apply. This goes for every uni (apart from medicine and oxbridge but the same applies but with a different deadline)*
