Generally retakes taken within the two year period of sixth form, are not classed as "resits". Peopel who redo units within the two years are generally not treated any different to those who didn't. It is normally when someone retakes units for a third year that they are then classed as "resit candidates" by the med school, and not all unis will accept them.

If you are applying next year, then apparently UCL have changed their policy to state they do not like January exams or resits of any kind. Its a bit confusing, so I would advise you to look that up if considering UCL.

Thanks ever so, that clears a lot up : ). And I'm not planning on UCL, it's already too late for me to take the specified number of units in my exams coming up.
