I hate this part of the process when you are constantly checking the post for the letter. All the best everyone, hopefully we will start hearing some news about letters on here soon.

I'm trying not to think about it, as I know my maths let me down. But it sure is a waiting game.
I know what you mean, I found the maths ok but I know for sure I got one or two wrong. Fingers crossed you don't have to get it all right.

Any word on letters yet it's bound to be this week that we start to hear.
:colondollar:
No word yet I was told if I hadn't heard by mid April to get in touch. I would imagine end of nxt wk. thankfully I've put it out of my head. My mum always says "if it's meant for you it won't go by you". I work as a teaching assistant in primary school so still lucky if it doesn't work out this year. Good luck to you and keep in touch x
I feel exactly the same. I always say everything happens for a reason. Same here I'm a CA so at least I'm still doing sonething I enjoy. Fingers crossed for you. At least we will know soon. Ive managed to put it out of my head until yesterday.

I was just thinking the same thing myself. Trying not to think about it and to just carry on being a CA if it doesn't work out this time. There is always next year

Good luck folks!
One of my references just phoned to say she had been contacted by the university for a reference. She didn't have that last year so don't know what that means. Just want to get it over and done with to be honest.
Well that sounds promising. =D Good luck!!!
Thanks. Good luck to you to. It's annoying having to wait on the post. It would be better if there was an online system that you could check. Wonder if anyone has had letters yet?

No idea. We'll find out pretty soon, I'd guess. Well, those who get in, anyway. They're not too quick with the rejection letters.
When asked in an interview 'what is your experience of the national curriculum' do you think this is something they are looking to hear...

So for instance do u think it'd be best to mention my experience in as many subjects within the curriculum as possible?
Eg; working with p3 I have covered 2,3,5,10 timetables, time - mins, hours and the nearest time to 5 mins, adding, subtracting, value of money etc in numeracy, then move onto literacy covering phonics, guided reading, weekly spellings, their exception words, comprehension pieces, looking at fairytale characters - understanding their appearance/characteristics. Then move onto for instances science, pe, the world around us etc etc...?

Sorry for asking so much, I like to hear what other people are thinking

Thanks

Hi, that answer sounds great and they would be happy to hear of your knowledge of the cirriculum. The only thing I would say is it will take a long time to go through the whole cirriculum like this and it might turn into a ramble. What I did was talk about changes in the cirriculum and my experiences of whole the cirriculum is taught. When I was asked about the cirriculum I talked about the main areas that are covered and then examples of lessons. I also talked about how ICT Is now assessed and children can gain grades. Hope this helps in some way, have you an interview coming up?

Hi Nichola22, thanks for the reply:smile:

That sounds great and yes that's what I was afraid of, rambling on! Nothing worst than getting too deep into an answer and not being able to get out of it!!

I think I will use my experience of what I've done in the core subjects, mention pe, world around us but make emphasis on how sometimes art and music are neglected even through they are just as important.

I have been to other interviews and have since been wondering is it acceptable to bring in a page of bullet points so I can refer to it when asked certain questions. I know previous interviews I have walked out an immediately been annoyed with myself as I forgot to mention so many important points down to nerves. I have never brought a page in before but was wondering if this is allowed as guidance?

I have an interview in Liverpool on Monday and it's the one I really want to get interms of having to move from N Ireland as it's best suited to my degree and also convenient for travelling home. It's primary with pe specialism.

Thanks again

In regards to answering questions on the Curriculum, I would do the same as Nichola and keep it to main points and what is new and current - like the ICT grades.

Good luck in Liverpool though. I hope you get in where you'd like.

Has anyone heard of any letters for anyone yet? The suspense .....
Hi Littleelf

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think when they ask me about my experience I'm gonna say well in terms of the national curriculum I have helped children with phonics, guided reading, time, money, standard measuring etc etc.

Any tips on current educational issues?

Hope u hear back from Coleraine soon, it's crazy how long they take 😕

Hey jellybean, good luck in your interview! You sound really well prepared, I know how nerve wrecking it can be going in an interview like this. In regards to educational issues it's hard for me to answer because the im not too sure what's going on in England at the minute. I just looked on the news a lot before my interview and researched from the Internet. As long as you have one answer for everything you will always have something to talk about. Just remember to be yourself, I think a lot of it is down to your personality and confidence.

I know now what you mean littlelf, my dads a postman and he is sick of me asking about letters. I wish some people would post their news, I'm sure some people must have found out by now. I suppose no news is good news tho.
I'm the same as nichola22 - I have no idea about current mainland news. Could you try to look up on a local educational site? Here, our school is concentrating on assessment for learning and the integration of all subjects together: eg. using ICT with maths and literacy and also World Around Us and vice-versa.

If no-one has news yet, then I guess it is good news. We'll know if we're in or out if others get letters and we don't. The rejection letters seem to take a much longer time to get sent out. :s-smilie:
Thanks to both of you, what will be will be ☺️

Hope you's hear from Coleraine soon 👍☺️
