Beyond normal? Great so put the ****ing phone away and enjoy it. Whilst your at it, quit the internet too.

I'm guessing you don't own a mobile or have internet connection in your house, otherwise you're a hypocrite.

With you on that, yesterday at work I forgot my key so I had to wait half an hour for someone with a master key to get my belongings - phone, money, iPod - and I kept going to listen to my iPod to pass the time, or going to buy something, or thinking of phoning someone, then realising I couldn't :frown:

:'( I think if i lost my iPod i'd feel even worse.

I hate it when this happens, there is an app called TapTrace [allows you to track your mobile] if it gets lost or stolen!
cause i was drunk and lay on this large grassy area in the middle of a road, i went back today and i found my phone

I don't have an internet connection at home, or a TV.

I do have a mobile but I use it sparingly and I definitely don't use it to send pointless texts when I am actually in the company of other people. I also am happy to go out without it for a few hours and don't get withdrawal symptoms.

I lost my phone in early december (stupid mistake really, left it in a taxi - I wasn't even drunk), didn't get a replacement until a few days ago.

You learn to live without it so just 'deal with it', as they say.

I am not directing it just at you, I was just making the comment that many people are too reliant on their phones or indeed online socialising to the detriment of actual face-to-face socialising. I just can't stand it when you are in the pub etc. and someone is on their phone the whole time or checking for updates every two minutes.

Well obviously, I hate that too, which is why i dislike talking to people who have blackberries esp because they cannot keep their faces out of it.
