People in Bodington get used to it.
As for cycling, it's a straight road and it is fairly easy to do it although the road is busy. Also remember you lose out on the social aspect with cycling. 95% of the students at Bodington will be getting the bus down, and Bodington being Bodington, where loads of people know loads of others, if you are waiting at the bus stop there will be people you know there, and when you're going back there will probably be people on the Bodington bus back, so if you really like cycling its fair enough, otherwise you might feel like you're missing out by always having to ride your bike when everyone else is together on the bus.
I think if you want those things you mention above, then Bodington will be the best hall for you. The buses are regular enough that they are not a hassle, and if you have a bus pass then you can use it to and from town as well (they come back in the early hours of the morning) so you don't have to pay for taxis on nights out, it is quite good value for money.
