I want the King's representatives to check the link below and answer about the authenticity of this question/information.

i do not believe in it personally. I am planning to attend the course of MS in Mobile and Personal communications 2012/13 so it is directly related to my future career/life. if it is a rumor, you should report to close the thread. But in case it has some substance kindly explain it in detail. I am worried now.
regards

Hi Ammad Ali,

The School of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (which is where your programme is based) until a few years ago was called the School of Physical Sciences and Engineering. At that time it was decided that the School was no longer going to offer engineering at UG level, so teaching in those programmes will conclude in 2013, when the last cohort finishes their programmes.

However, engineering is still part of our specialist postgraduate programmes. Your programme is based within the Department of Informatics and it is fully supported with world class academic staff.

Have you been in touch with the programme leader to discuss your concerns? I would advise that you do this as they will be able to offer practical and up to date information on the support that you will receive as part of the programme. His name is Dr Mohammad Reza Nakhai and can be contacted on 020 7848 2744 or via email: [email protected] and will be very happy to assist you and answer your queries and concerns.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.

Hi Moonface93

Thanks for your message. Our Student Union, KCLSU, hosts loads of different events throughout the year. We do have a summer graduation ball and one particular favourite of students is Truffle Shuffle, which is a big night at our nightclub, Tutu's! Check out KCLSU's website (http://kclsu.org/) or check them out on Facebook or Twitter to get a flavour of all the activities that take place here

Hope this helps

Hi, last month I rang KCL about applying through UCAS extra. I had to send a new personal statement as well as I chose a different subject to my initial choice. Do you have any idea when I may get a reply?

Many thanks

I need to chose one of the followings and it's really driving me crazy:

Bradford - Chemistry with Pharmaceutical and Forensics Science
King's College of London - Chemistry with Biomedicine

Now I know KCL is a better university and that London is great, but so far nobody has told me how competitive this place really is. I don't want to go there and find out that the modules are too hard and I cannot finish my four years.

Please help me with any relevant information. Many thanks!!
Hi there,

I have applied for a place on the MRes in Translational Cancer Medicine for 2012-3 in the School of Medicine. The website state that the intake is only 6 or 7 per year.

Do you know (or can you find out) how competitive that course is? I have to wait until after the 8 May before they'll make their selection.

Thanks

Hi Natty.B!

OK, so I've just spoken with the admissions team for BSc Business Management.
In terms of the AS level, it needs to be a B, so you will need 3A's at A level and 1 B at AS Level.

Hope that helps!

Fran

I was wondering if candidates still get offers if they get the 3A's at A-level and 1 C at AS Level, are their offers increased because of that or are they not offered a place at all. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I'm an international student (from Italy) and I'm now attending the penultimate year of my high school system.
At the beginning of this year, due to some familiar problem (I had moved in another town and some other things) I reported some bad marks (something like DDE in the British System), even if now I am in the top 5% of my class and at the end of the year I may be the best one.

Will this "stain" preclude me any possibility of being admitted to King's? How much important are grades in KCL admission's policy?

Thank you very much

Hi Summer2012

Thanks for your message. I'm afraid I can't give you exact timeframes for when you might get a reply as each department goes through applications in slightly different ways (some wait until they've received everything before going through them and offering, others offer in batches depending on when they came in). I would advise that you contact admissions for the programme either directly or via the myApplication portal as they will be able to give the most up to date info on your application.

Good luck!

Hi Tratto

Thanks for your question. As long as you meet the entry requirements for the programme you are applying for that's all you need to ensure so I wouldn't worry too much about your previous marks. Just make sure you do really well in your last year (sounds like you are already) and you should be fine!

Hope this helps

Thank you for the rapid help

Sorry if I I have another question but I didn't find anything on the net, do you have the average KCL's admission's statistics?

I've got an offer at King's but on my UCAS I put 'live at home' because I live in London, but zone 4. Now, I want to apply for accommodation, can I still apply for accommodation or do I have to contact UCAS etc to change it on my initial UCAS form live away from home...

Hi oanym

Thanks very much for your message. So have you been offered a place on Chemistry with Biomedicine at King's or just looking into what to apply for for 2013 entry? If you have already been made an offer I think they will have considered you as being of the right standard for the course and capable of taking the modules! If you are just thinking about applying for this programme at the moment, I would suggest that you get in touch with the admissions team or programme leader for this programme as they will be able to advise you on how tough the modules are. They can be reached on 020 7848 2271 / 020 7848 7213 or by email: [email protected]

Also, if you can make it, there is a Biomedical Sciences open day on 12 May and there will be current King's students and lecturers from the programme who you will be able to discuss the course with: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/ug/openday/index.aspx

Hope this helps

Hi tamitm

Congratulations on your offer! Well done!

With regards to entry requirements I'm afraid you will have to speak directly with the admissions teams about this. They will be able to talk through your specific circumstances and offer advice on this matter. You can contact them via myApplication or by calling them on 020 7848 6511 or [email protected]

Sorry I can't help further myself!

Hi Phenylethylamine

Thanks for your message. I'm pretty sure you can still apply for accommodation but it may be worth letting UCAS know, just in case. I'm sure you already know but at King's, students who live within the M25 ring road who apply for accommodation are at a lower priority than students outside of it. However, if you make sure you get your application in before the 30 June deadline you are still in with a chance. If you want to discuss your position give the Accommodation Office a call and they will be happy to discuss: (0)20 7848 2759

Hope this helps

Hi Tratto

Thanks for your message; I'm afraid it isn't really possible to provide an overall statistic across all admissions at King's. If you can let me know which programme you're interested in applying I can look into the admission statistics for that

Hi Natty.B

Thanks for your message. When I looked into this before admissions did say that a B was needed at AS Level for this programme. I think it might be worth giving admissions a call to discuss your specific circumstances and what they would advise. You can reach them on 020 7848 1403 or [email protected] and they will be happy to help talk through your questions.

Hope this helps
