law at oxford

I have an offer to study law at oxford but am inclined not to accept it. Id like to know the definitive truth about the workload involved for law at oxford, the amount of free time, quality of the course and also the quality of student life one would experience.

There's a member here, tagzt, who's currently reading Law at Merton. From what he's posted I understand he's enjoying himself, and Merton is (supposedly) the most academically pressurised college. He hasn't posted recently but if you sent him a friendly personal messaged he might reply.

The workload for lawyers is tough, but from what I can gather having observed my lawyer friends it is manageable. All of them have enough time to take part in extra-curricular activities and still do well academically - it's just a question of time management. As for the course, I don't know in detail, but you will be able to find that out from the course handbook which you should be able to download from the law faculty website. Alternatively you could write to them and request one. I know that law at Oxford has an excellent reputation which is pretty much unsurpassed. The degree would carry a lot of weight in the employment world. As Alexander says, it's probably best to talk to Tagzt.
