What are the most fashionable or "in" universities to attend right now

Universities are like brands - Cambridge is obviously a good brand for example, as is Stanford or Harvard.

Brands go up and down. Of course I know there are loads of rankings, but in a general subjective way, which Unis do people consider the most "fashionable" or "hi-status" at the moment? Ignoring subject specialisms.

I think it's changing a bit over time, but my top 10 UK list is:

Cambridge
Imperial
Oxford
LSE
Warwick
UCL
Manchester
Newcastle
Leeds
Bristol

My international list is:

Harvard
Cambridge
MIT
Stanford
USC
Imperial
Oxford
Yale
Princeton
LSE

Is there a "fast mover" that is on the way up?

Is Oxford in particular in the way down?

EDIT Lol at all the negs - as if nobody else has thought for one minute about which Uni is on the way up and which down?? Which is coolest? All I'm asking is opinions on that, so far everyone is just pretending to be smarter and above all this. Lots of people talk about which is most "in".

EDIT 2 It's so funny that everyone negs my posting, but they are all busy discussing my topic, eg, which is most "in" or "on the way up or down" - seems like people don't like to admit that choosing a Uni is a matter of fashion as much as anything, even though that's exactly what it is.

Exeter seems pretty popular with English "jocks". One of the reasons I ****ing hate it.
They're a pretty trendy bunch at Imperial, yes.

Christ on a ****ing bike.

I think Imperial is heading down a bit on League Tables this year so that could give it a hit down.

Cambridge uni girls entered the rear of the year competition with some tabloid, they posted pics of their bottom for that comp. They are pretty trendy I say
Cambridge is pretty popular, plus it gets a lot of media attention. When I was a kid, I dreamed of going there, until I realised that I was too dumb.

You mad? Where's Durham?

Cambridge
Oxford
Imperial
LSE
UCL
Durham
Warwick
Bristol

Durham and Warwick may overtake London in terms of people saying "urgh, why do you want to study in london?"

This thread kinda makes me want to vomit.
are you mad, where Caltech!?
I don't know if this is particularly relevant, but from the point of view of a Scottish student, none of my friends have heard of Imperial, UCL or any other English uni apart from Cambridge and Oxford. I think purely on how well the name and status are known, those two will always top the list.

Lulz. I like pretend street-rap/hip-hop, hipster and antique jewels.
Does fashionable mean which has the wealthiest students? I went on an open day to Bristol and that must be the winner for rich kids. Didn't realise there was that many in the country. I wouldnt like to be there and dress badly or look poor.

Well yeah, we all know that the whole world knows Oxbridge. But none of your friends know any other English uni? How ignorant are they?

Since when was attending a certain uni fashionable? What are they teaching you in school?
