Failed GCSE English - what to do?

I have just been to collect my results at school and found out that I have failed my English Language by getting a D, by 5 points so I went to my head of English and she said how I should contact my college, ask for a remark of that exam and then consult her afterwards.

The problem is, is that I want to do a job that requires little effort, mentally, yet allows me to balance that, physically, I want to become an R.A.F pilot and then go on to become a Commercial pilot but to do this I need 5 GCSE's and/or equivalent 3 A Levels (the pilots license I am currently doing) but I cannot understand where I am going wrong.

I got a B in my maths which helps quite a lot when doing this kind of course but it is my English which is letting me down.

I am posting it here because I have read numerous forums about GCSE's, Apprenticeships, Diplomas, etc and I would just like some help as I am not sure what to do from here on, thanks.

Matt
