Haha, I was quite recognisable with my 1940's victory rolls (type of vintage hairstyle). What did you think of it? I went to the English subject talk and thought it was great. Was packed out. The graves were a bit creepy tho...

Oh **** I think I clocked you in the English talk. That's what I'm applying for too. I had long brown hair and a red and navy shirt, so not as recognisable.

Hey! I'm thinking of applying to QMUL for English Literature too! Have you been to the open day ? I couldn't go unfortunately so I have no idea what it's like.

Do you know if they interview applicants for English?

I didn't go either. I wish I had! I've heard that they don't usually interview applicants but there are expections if they're unsure regarding some students. Where else are you applying?

Do queen mary interview all English applicants?

I heard so..! But I'm not sure - so have emailed them to ask

I'm really stuck choosing between QMUL and Exeter University for my last choice...

http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2145242

Anyone have any advice?! What makes Queen Mary so special?

Unfortunately I couldn't go to the open day...

Just heard back from them and they said they DO interview all English applicants. Only in really exceptional circumstances will they make an unconditional offer without interview!

Hi. I asked them specifically about the 'English BA' but I assume it's the same for all their English courses...
I know the entry requirements are the same

Might be worth emailing them. They are very quick to reply. They also said the interviews are 1 to 1.

Here's their reply if anyone's interested-

"Yes, we interview all applicants. We do make unconditional offers to
applicants without interviewing sometimes but that depends on factors such
as already having obtained A Levels (entry requirements), outstanding
personal statement and reference etc. The reason we interview is so we can
identify if an applicant really wants to study English Literature and isn't
wanting to take the degree just for the sake of it (so it isn't us being
selective if that makes sense, more so trying to identify those who have the
passion for English Literature). Our interviews are held on a one to one
basis with a member of the academic team. "

User: Funtry
Course: Chemistry MSci
GCSE's: 4A*, 4A, 2B's
AS Levels: ABBB (Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Philosophy (that order))
A2 Predictions: A*AA (No idea how). Same order as above, dropped Philosophy. Resitting Chemistry and Physics, both modules. Also doing an EPQ based upon the chemistry of caffeine, how it effects the body and it's sociological effects.
First Choice: Imperial or York.

QM is my back up due to it's low entry requirements for Chemistry (300 UCAS). I love the Campus and feel to the University though.
