EPQ dilemma!

I'm doing an EPQ this year and I was hoping to mix art with history.
I have no idea what sort of thing to do though as a topic.
Could people give me some ideas??

You could do something on the real author of a historical piece ?
Something on why society values something that is essential a blend of paint on a canvas ?

Make sure it is something you can discuss ... not just telling the author everything you know.
Usually controversial issues and debates work best but if you can find a way to keep it a discussion through another method that is great (probably more original in fact)
