It would still be a shame for Floyd to retire. The guy is at his peak. Regardless of past performances, I think he is at his very best right now and is virtually unstoppable. His hand speed is still amazing everytime you see it.

Amir Khan has fast hands. Let's just hope he gets a decent coach and builds a good defence, otherwise he is going down Nas' route.

Nas was a power puncher with a relatively unorthodox approach to defence i.e. very low hands, show boating etc. I don't think Khan is that kind of character, and I think he has the right people around him to ensure that he becomes a proper boxer and not a showman. I thought Earl would be a stern test, but Khan just blew him out of the water in unbelievable fashion. This shows everyone that he's the real deal...Earl is no pushover. Thaxton will lose if/when they fight, he's getting on a bit, and won't be able to cope with the fluency of Khan.
I meant like Nas in the sense he fought rubbish opposition until he faced a proper classy boxer in Barrera, and got embarassed. Hopefully Khan gets the right opposition and is not sheltered by the money-grabbing Warren.

Not to take any credit away from Khan, but Earl was leaving him self open through out the whole 72 seconds, he was sloppy. And then saying the ref didnt make a good decision is just petty, he will die in the ring one day lmao.

Thaxton would probably lose. But thaxton has a very good defence and can really punch. If amir's gonna challenge for world title's he's gonna have to learn to take a punch. He's only been hit hard once and he went down like a ton of bricks.

mayweather should punch above his weight...

KALZAGHE!!

Just watched the fight. Mayweather deserved to win by leaps and bounds. Shame it wasn't a clean fight - get's a bit boring watching the ref split them up all the time.

Tbh i think give ODLH a rematch, he'll win for sure.

DLH would? ... No he really wouldn't.

Like I said, Floyd has nothing at all to prove. It doesn't matter who he fights at Welter, he would beat anyone. Cintron, Williams, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, they'd all be beaten. There isn't any big name light middleweight fights out there for him either apart from a DLH re-match, which he'd win again anyway.

well not for sure, but it would be a tougher fight than hatton, no matter what he says lol.

i'd like to see mayweather face cotto quite like the look of cotto but his defense aint good and mayweather would exploit that.

Witter just called out Hatton, and to be honest I wouldn't mind seeing it. Witter is on Golden Boy Promotions right? I'd love to see Hatton go back down to 140, win the WBC, have a couple more fights and retire on a high - but really he doesn't have much to prove (options are limited), it'd just be great to see Ricky bounce back again.

Khan is very quickly outgrowing the domestic scene, like Frank Warren said, he's ahead of schedule. But he needs to get the best trainer money can buy in order to step up to the next level - but not before fighting either Thaxton or Melero. Training in the US, with top quality sparring partners will accelerate his growth and get him to a stage where he's a realistic contender. He's already visited Freddie Roach's gym and been on the pads with him, if he heads over to the US more often, the he's definitely on the right track.

lol, feel sorry for all those fans who travelled over.

I don't. They all went shopping and took advantage of the weak dollar. Many of them easily saved enough money from their shopping sprees to pay for the entire trip and tickets to the fight.

Its not like they're going to come back home and sell their goods, so they've still lost money, whether it be lots or little bit lol. Well weak dollar, strong dollar ...i think anyone would enjoy a trip to vegas anyway.
Those of them that did their Christmas shopping while over there would probably have broken even, despite the cost of the flights. If the average spend on Christmas presents is say 400 pounds, the consumer could go to the states, buy 400 quid's worth of presents for only 200 (since the pound is twice as strong as the dollar), spend say 200 on a cheap flight and be no worse off while having a fun trip the states. Would only really be worth it if you had originally planned to spend a wad of cash in the UK. Such a great bunch of fans, that many of them would have been willing to re-mortgage their houses just to be there!

I have never been to Vegas, unfortunately, but down here in Miami there are lots of Brits and Western Europeans throwing their money around. It feels a bit strange to hear accented voices carrying on about how cheap something is -- that isn't cheap at all.

It makes me feel....poor :frown:

Maybe because you and your fellow americans keep spending, and have not saved your earnings for the past few years :p:! Whose fault is it? :p: ... Vegas is awesome for the US, the casinos can easily sort out any inflation problems in a few seconds lmao.

Wow - nice to see this thing going! Long time....

Many fights as well :-)
Hatton - well, what can you say? Admire him, but he got plainly out-boxed. I'd like to have seen this at 140lb instead, although I do think PBF would have won. Hatton may of made more out of it though.

I'm feeling for Calzaghe against Hopkins though or Winky. I think he'll open up Winky to be honest, wheras Hopkins he'll have a harder time, but will still be victorious.

Amir Kahn is just sensational. If he touches up on his defence he'll be a PBF. He has the height to achieve light welter and even welter if he can punch hard enough.
