Message of 'As I walked out one evening'?

I just want other people's opinion of the message of Auden's, 'As I walked out one evening'
(Top of my head - no analysis just a quick train thought of my brain) Mine is that everyone falls at the hands of time. It's powerful, 'You cannot conquer time'. The lovers is a prim example of how ignorance will lead to your downfalls. However, this ignorance is powered by being blinded by love. You can love until 'China and Africa meet' but in the end, time will kill you, leading to death.
What are your opinions on the message of 'As I walked out one evening'?
