2014 to 2018???
As I was re-applying for my student finance for this year, I told them I was starting my first year (after having completed a foundation year this past year) and it says the start date is
Your university or college have told us that :the start date for this course is 01 September 2014
and the end date for this course is 31 August 2018
is this right? it can't be can it? I'm starting first year this year and should finish third year in the academic year of 2016/17?

Does it include a placement year? Is it a medical or nursing-related course? Does it include a Masters year (more common in Scotland)? There are a number of factors which can make a degree course last four years.
If in doubt, check the online prospectus for the course and check directly with the uni if that doesn't explain.
