Hi has anyone had an interview for leeds or manchester i dont know what to expect or what to prepare

I had one at leeds a few months back and got an offer, what I remember was that firsts there a tour of the campus and their audiology facilities mostly then you are split into small groups of 3-5 people and interviewed in a group, where your asked things like why you choose your a level subjects, whats current in the news- audiology / health related and when you been in difficult situations and something about your work experience.

It mostly a group discussion, make sure you take apart but also show your a good listener

So what is current in the news in Audiology? My knowledge just extends to there being a bit of a shift in Audiology services towards the private sector (ie specsavers etc):colondollar:

You need to keep your eyes and ears  open - keep an eye on the press. Here's a useful article published today for starters, with leads in it to follow up on other stories: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/feb/09/hearing-aids-health-policy-austerity-nhs?CMP=share_btn_tw

It's also useful to keep an eye on these:

Action on Hearing Loss news and campaigns http://www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/news-and-events.aspx

British Academy of Audiology: http://www.baaudiology.org/indexphpnews/news-home/

And the Limping Chicken website is very useful for a D/deaf centred view: http://limpingchicken.com

Hi, yes I've got an interview for the 25th of February, don't know what to expect though? Leeds was quite informal, and only had a group interview, but Manchester have a group task as well as an interview.

Has anyone else just have an invite to an interview at Middlesex? I got an invite sent just before midnight yesterday, clicked on the link to book a place at lunchtime today and all places on the 3 dates seem to have gone already! Waiting for a reply from Admissions, but wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. There aren't that many of us applying to Audiology so I am feeling a bit bemused at the lack of places.

Oh ok, Yh I'm a bit worried but my firedn told me its very relaxed and yh a group task presenting something
Swansea was really quite relax which was not what I was expecting! Basically they had you in a room and talked about why swansea etc then you split off on a rota to 6 different people who where asking different things like one asked the obvious why swansea and audiology and then others wanted to know more about you and gave you different scenarios.
