That's fair enough I suppose, you can't spend your life married to somebody you don't find attractive.
If I'm not mistaken - this is definitely not typical of arranged marriages.
Some people are mixing this up. This is one of a particular Arab tradition but far more often than not the potential spouse is seen beforehand in an arranged marriage.

TBF it's the satellite communities like Pakistan (any non Arab Muslim country) that keep telling them they're beautiful, they want to look like them, have their culture, be named after them, look after them etc is why their heads are in the sky.
