The Student Room Group

Where do Artists sell their work? Can you share your experiences?

I was wondering where student Artists sell their work? With limited time while your 'studying' what platforms do you use to get noticed. What works well and what doesn't? Any advice? What about copyrights when selling online?

I think artists mostly use etsy..to sell their work and set up businesses...
Etsy is good for craft based things, but if you mean Fine Art then SaatchiArt is more appropriate: http://www.saatchiart.com/ It's mostly painting focused but other works are welcome and do sell too.
Group shows are also a good way to get your work out there and make a few sales.
I don't understand what you mean by copyright when selling online. :s-smilie:

Thank you for the link! I'm looking forward to upload my door painting onto the web for sale.

Do you have similar websites like this which are well known?

I'm afraid this is the only one I know of, but I've found having a blog is a great way to promote your art and find potential buyers. Tumblr is really good, and I've heard of others having success with sites like instagram or having a facebook page.
Good luck with selling your door painting.
