HELP. From cerazette to nexplanon - ruining my life

I was on cerazette for about 2 and a half years. My periods stopped altogether which was great as i suffered heavy, painful periods, no weight gain, but for the first 6months or so I felt very down a lot of time. However, I had just started university, got into a new relationship and all of the girl friends I had been good friends with for the last 6-7 years had all moved away to uni- so the feeling down could be due to the new situation in my life. My sex life was active and normal.

Last april I visited the doctor regarding something else and ended up being fitted with the implant as she said this was much better than the pill. It wasn't painful to be fitted and regarding the physical presence of the implant i haven't had any problems.
As the months went on my libido began to decrease and is still pretty non existent. I do not weigh myself often but decided too and realised i have gained almost a stone !!!! I eat healthily and exercise regularly too. Yes i know muscle weighs more than fat but I am noticing the fat on my body, something which (luckily) i have not experienced before and my clothe are starting to feel tighter. Some of the side effects of nexplanon are weight gain and loss of sex drive. Im in my final months of my third year of uni and my motivation is at an all time low. I feel fatigue a lot of the time despite resting and eating well. My boyfriend and I are still together, this hasn't effected us but in my mind i know if something isn't changed it could potentially cause a lot of problems. I am 21 years old and should not NOT be having sex with my boyfriend who i love very much.
I want this implant out of me now.

I am wondering if anyone else has suffered the same side effects and what they did once the implant was taken out. Did you go back to cerazette? or a different pill?

Hi, I've had a very similar situation but with rigevidon, pills work differently to everyone so some people have all positive effects whereas others suffer bad side effects. It is extremely likely the effects you are having are because of your pill. Go to your G.P and tell them what's happening and say you're certain its the pill. Don't let them persuade you to stay on it if you've been taking it for over 3 months, demand to try something else as its having serious effects on your life due to the hormonal imbalance. Sometimes you have to push the doctors or they just don't listen. Be pleasant about it though and ask them to talk you through the other forms of contraceptive that should be suitable for you. Rigevidon made me feel depressed and angry and things that wouldn't usually bother me really did. It was putting my relationship on edge and I was struggling with work and socialising and couldn't understand what was wrong with me. I've stopped taking it now and after 3 weeks all those depressing feelings and angry outbursts have gone. Sadly for me since trying various contraceptives I either had short, light periods accompanied with terrible 'PMT' and depression or being pycho, or have heavy, long periods but low hormone overdrive and being 'normal' in my moods. Despite the horror every month I think I prefer the heavy, painful periods to the messed up head. Hopefully there's a pill out there that has both benefits.

I am booked in for 1st May, i think for now i'm just going to be contraceptive free for a while. thank you for your comment ! x
I was on the mini pill also (not cerazette because that made me bleed solidly for 4 months!!) and decided to go on the implant for a number of reasons, ease etc. I loved not having to worry about taking a pill, but it made me feel very emotional and just really horrid. Different to your situation, but I have low blood pressure and heart palpitations occasionally and the implant actually made them so unbearable that I couldn't get out of bed for a week! Two days after I had it out I was back to normal. I also experienced extreme ovary pain which stopped after it was out, so hopefully you'll be feeling much more like yourself soon!
