Maths Question help

If I am told to draw
4Y^2+X^2=1

How do I go about it, I can see it is centered on the origin but how do I draw it explain your method Thank you

I'd rearrage it to get y=.. then just sub in values of x to get y. From that you can draw it. :smile:
I'd either create a table of values (maybe from -5 to 5) and then plot from that.
Or you could rearrange for Y, but you will probably get a square root. It depends on the marks being awarded I guess..

Find the turning points if any, then check for intersections and also find asymptotes. Subbing in values is a last resort, there are better and cleaner ways.
