American international student university questions

Hi, friends across the ocean, American here! I'm planning to apply to LSE for the 2016-17 school year and am curious as to certain aspects of English university life. American LSE students and non-American, feel free to respond! Can anyone tell me about the difficulty of transitioning academically and also socially (and any other experiences you/your friends have had). Thanks in advance!
Hi, Welcome to TSR! :h:

I'm going to tag the American Uni expert @WoanderinCC , as I feel he would give you a more thorough response and would be able the respond to any questions you may have!

Alright, thank you very much!
In the meantime, reading through these threads may answer some of your questions! You can also respond to some of the responses for specific questions.

Thank you for that praise, but I'm only an American high school student who has both done a lot of research and experienced different education systems (the US and Australian).

I don't think i'm qualified to talk about student life in the UK.

OP, I suggest having a look at the Freshers tips articles on this website. Freshers and joining student organizations is your best way to settle in and make friends. People are people everywhere, and I don't think the culture difference is too huge between the UK and the US, although there definitely is some.

My favorite tip was to bring some cookies (biscuits) to share with your roommate and other students down the hall. Everyone loves food.

Finally, keep looking for American students on this forum, and (thanks to my super late reply) this comment can act as a bump. If you have any questions about applying, especially with American qualifications, I may be able to help you more.
