Gap Year before Graduate Job/Scheme?

Hello!

I am going into my final year of university and instead of going straight into a graduate job/scheme after I graduate, I would like to take a gap year to do internships across the world (U.S.A/France) and return back during the summer to hopefully start a graduate job/scheme in September. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible? Do employers only like to take on students who are about to graduate as opposed to just graduated? Will my chances of finding a good graduate job/scheme decrease due to my gap year?
