Moved this into a new thread in the Clearing, Applications and UCAS forum for you, from the chat thread.

Yes you can! But it's quite risky - you have to ask the university you hold an offer for to release you into clearing. Usually the university giving you an offer need you to accept by a deadline - if the Uni you hold an offer from doesn't release you in time then you risk losing both places.

Good luck!

Many universities will not speak with you unless you have a clearing number, and to get a clearing number you need to be released from your current place. Being released is not high priority for the university, so it could take a while, during which time you could be missing out on places. This is quite risky, because once released into clearing, your original confirmed place is lost.

Although universities are not supposed to speak to you without the clearing number, there are a few that will do.
To add to Zottula's post - you really must have your grades before calling the uni.
