international development/developmental geography ..worth doing?

I've accepted biomed at kings but have realised that I don't really want to do it and am thinking of transferring to a development course.
it's the first course description that I've actually thought might be interesting, but I don't really know if a degree in this would be worth doing.

is it seen as a mickey mouse subject? something that wouldnt really get me anywhere?

I've already phoned up my insurance which is uea and they seem to be fine with it, I've just got to phone up kings and see what they say although I'm not that optimistic
