Derwent College - Economy Ensuite Accommodation

Hi,

I've looked literally everywhere online but can't seem to find any photos of the economy ensuite accommodation at Derwent, or any reviews of it... Can anyone on here help me out? In particular I'd love to hear from people currently staying in it to tell me what it's like? I'm currently an offer holder from York for History and would be starting in September!

Same here! Zero info on the website regarding ensuite rooms in Derwent yet that’s what I’ve been given.

No block provided as yet - just Derwent, Band 2, ensuite catered. Accommodation ppl insist that it exists yet I can’t find it online at all. There’s no college that has band 2 ensuite for a start. They insist it’s not a mistake.

Hi,

I've checked with the accommodation team. There are a small number of Derwent Band 2 ensuites but there aren't included on the website or in the application system because there are so few. We don't have any pictures of these rooms, but I've asked the team to let me know if there are any similar rooms on the website that you can have a look at to get an idea. I'll let you know if I hear back!

Oh my goodness thank you so very much. It’d be great to know what storage there is as I know some rooms have underbed storage plus drawers under the desk. None of my choices were ensuite so I’m quite surprised I’ve been given this as I’d have thought en-suites would be popular. Huge thanks for looking into this for me. It’s very kind.

No problem! I imagine that the room looks pretty similar to the Band 2 shared bathroom rooms in Derwent. :smile:

Thank you. If it’s similar to other band 2 rooms that’s absolutely fine. Are these handful of rooms together in a block and a bit isolated? Given there’s only a handful of them?
Majority of Derwent is catered isn’t it? So even if there’s not many people in the block, students will meet others at dinner & bfast?

I'm not 100% sure but after talking to a friend who was in Derwent, I believe these rooms aren't isolated in a block together. I think they are just dotted around blocks with other rooms that don't have an ensuite bathroom. Derwent College is all catered so you'll be able to socialise with everyone from your college :smile:

Hi!

J block is in the centre of Derwent College so it's really near the college bar and Courtyard cafe. It's here on the Campus Map if you want to have a look :smile:
