Had a brilliant time at Lyme Regis recently; I can see why they call this place the fossil hunters mecca. I was especially pleased with the fools gold ammonite I found; although extracting it proved more challenging than expected. Nonetheless finds were in abundance. Definitely a place to return

Any recommendations of where to go ~Robin Hoods Bay/wider area? Looks like we're going there in a few months time and we've been fossil hunting a bit on the usual beach next to the Old Coastguards station but would like to explore a bit.

There’s quite a lot of places on the North Yorkshire coast to find fossils including robin hoods bay itself

Personally I would recommend port mulgrave if it’s still accessible, sandsend is meant to also be good for finding ammonitic golden nodules and what not.
