Opinions wanted on coping mechanisms

Now as everyone knows there are many types of coping mechanisms, both healthy and unhealthy. Now can I have your opinion on, less common/largely hated coping mechanisms in public and I would like at least one reason listing why and ,if possible, a coping mechanism that can be used as reference

Well, for me, the only thing I can think of currently is, if a person had anxiety and need to stim orally by biting people would suggest chewlery but when I have to use an adult sized pacifier To stim, bc of sensitive teeth chewing hurts so I can not use chewlery but I can not do that in public due to stares and disgusted looks and snarky comments.
