LSE Law with ******

Hello,
I am thinking of applying to LSE law, but I also really want to study politics. Is it possible to take a law degree at the school and also ask to take modules from the politics department? I heard that some students take subjects alongside the course like french, and it goes down in their certificate as "Law LLB (with french)" or some like that. Could I not do this with politics or something like literature?

The programme structure and courses directs to this:

While literature is an option, seems like you cannot attach it to your degree. And there does not seem to be optional modules for politics (or any other subject for that matter) for your degree.

You either study Law or Politics. But some lower ranked universities offer Law with/and Politics.

Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, UCL, KCL etc don't offer a Politics option.

You might be a stronger applicant for the less competitive Politics courses.

Hey,

why is this the case? Could they possibly allow me if I ask?

No. Degree titles and structures can take months or years to sign off. They won’t just modify it because you ask. It’s either an option or it’s not.

Hey,

The LLB Law and Politics degree at Queen Mary London would be an 'ideal' course and they usually have it in Clearing too. https://www.qmul.ac.uk/undergraduate/coursefinder/courses/2023/law-and-politics/
