career advice

i have always wanted to have a career inside law enforcement, and am particularly interested in being a metropolitan police detective. what
a-levels should i do to achieve this?

also should i do university afterwards or is it possible to do an apprenticeship or something similar?

As far as I know, officially they don't care what A Levels you do. You just need to have adequate number of A Levels in any subjects to get in. Policing in general isn't an academic exercise, so there isn't really specific A Levels to do it.

If you specifically want to become a detective (not a constable), you would be working towards a degree in any subject.

From the following webpage: https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/job-profiles/police-officer
... you would find the following site: https://www.joiningthepolice.co.uk/
If you click on the London are, it will bring you to the following: https://www.met.police.uk/car/careers/met/police-officer-roles
General requirements of joining the force as a detective: https://www.met.police.uk/car/careers/met/police-officer-roles/detective-constable/who-are-we-looking-for/

There should be alternative pathways to becoming a detective without doing a degree, but I can't find it on the site.
